Taken a Break!

This is a shot I took of one of my Orchids standing underneath it-this started blooming somewhere around Thanksgiving- I just took this shot of "old blooms" cool huh!

On the flip-side, now that I can't seem to make my sidebar do what its suppose to- it has caused great agitation in me- I need a break!


I love BlogWorld! But....... I love Spring and Gardening More! So I am taking a break indefinitely. I leave this with some old and new garden shots. I have alot in progress right now, with alot of disappointment due to the terrain and the WIND! Its like learning all-over again!
I have been blessed with some awesome yards in my lifetime!

Today is..........

Aunt Jean's Birthday. Had she not died of Cancer 5 years ago, I would be giving her a hard time about her birthday on here today.
I have awesome memories of my aunt. She was to me, my advocate growing up- It was in her eyes.. Sure, I am sure her and my mom played the good-cop bad cop thing. Its hard for me to believe that she is gone and not just away. When she was sick, I remembered thinking how she would be fine and get through it. I was going thru such a horrible time in my life with battling my ex and Lyme's disease- I was unable to go and see her. So for all these years its like she really hadn't died. She was one of the healthiest people I know. She always took vitamins, she watched what she ate, natural and lean. Exercised. Somehow I felt her existence w/that alone secured her position here on earth a good long while.
I miss her laughing, I miss her calling me with her 2cents worth and changing her mind before we hung up. I miss her Yankie-Floridian accent and the smell of Patchoulie oil! I miss her kindness and sensitivity. My Aunt was afunny person, she loved to laugh and loved to have fun. I would love for her to be here to see all my kids and spend time with them.
I put some pictures on here that totally remind me of her, the one with her arms crossed, I can still see her doing that to this day! She was quite the character!
I will never forget her, she has affected my life forever!

Get this, my mother was in their Hometown Newspaper here lately. The interview.
The Question. Candid with my mom could be very scary depending on what she is asked and how much fact you can handle!

Here is the picture I got off the Newspapers website and here is what the article was about.

Newspaper reporter: Yes, Ms. H. Tell us, What makes you smile?
My Mom: (As she is laughing hysterically) My daughter, the thought of what she has to go through with those 4 kids that she has makes me hysterical.

The article read: What makes YOU smile? Her answer- my 5 grandchildren.

I am sure they knew my mom and possibly had to do some editing. Somehow, she found that hilarious enough to call me and tell me how FUNNY she thought it was that I have the kind of kids I've got. Yeah, mom real funny. Sure I'm laughing, glad I could be of some comic relief for ya! You know I got good kids!

I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible for me to have been so bad as a kid that it took 4 of my own to make me pay!

My goodness, did she NOT see the award I got below?

Now I am laughing hysterically!

Mother of the Year Award!

Thank you to Verionica Lee (tags not working) www.ofmiceandramen.blogspot.com for giving me this Award! As I looked at what I needed to do to post it- I thought- perhaps I should give it back!LOL! My biggest complaint(in joke world) is "Well, Guess I won't be winning the Mother of the Year Award this time!" Most Days I feel like a failure and I have examples to prove it. So it will be easy to answer #1.

~~Rule One~~
Admit one thing you feel awful about involving being a mom!
This is easy. I can admit 101 things! For one, I didn't sign up for this- it just happened. And with that, I feel ill-equipped.

~~Rule Two~~
Remind yourself you are a good mom!
1. I cover them with the blood of Jesus
2. I have good intentions ( I am really starting to dig now)
3. I don't freak out when my house quickly fills with tons of kids and their friends.
4. Because I got them a good daddy who does all the things for them I won't do!
5. Because my life rotates 24/7 around their every need

( not sure that qualifies if I am hindering them=( eeek! Believe me I would prefer the 8 hour a day with weekend and nights off, with paid vacation and a lunch break and lots of girl time w/ my make believe friends! )
Did I mention Bathroom breaks all to myself!- wait what was the question!

The Day after......Green!

Yep! that day after gets me, of course you warn them, they do these things to themselves and you get the aftermath! Or.... You help them a little......

If I didn't catch the boys once, I caught them several times sucking on green dye in the cabinet yesterday. They mistaken it for the green icing- that is in a similar tube- I suppose. Then they were spraying green dye spray into their mouths and , yep, missing. Then...... of course there is more, I made green food , thanks to the blogs that put recipes on them yesterday- since I have no imagination left for myself. We had Cabbage rolls ( awesome -Rundpinne-Jennifer) and we had olives, saurercraut (yum), Green drink, Green cake- I could be leaving something out, oh yeah green icing- just straight from the tube!

What do you get from a day of Green?

You get the DAY AFTER! YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These boys are starten early, just when I get finished helping one, the other in the other bathroom hollers " Mommy, I'm done"! You got it- un-natural green.........................

I can't speak for the rest of the country, but today is an awesome day for the weather in this part of the state- a pre-spring day you might say!

As I wake and have St. Patty's day in my face. I realize once again, I will not get that MOTY award! For I never unpacked the Shamrocks or the Happy St. Patricks day signs! Wow! No green eggs!? Nothing Green? The kids just awoke in shock-LOL Where's our green? As I cut out shamrocks and placed Roswell Green alien shirts on them, I now feel my day is complete.

Perhaps, I will do something thoughout the day and prepare for a Green celebration tonight!

Spring Break 09'

Back from Spring break, today I will rest. I will also come by and play catch up with all my blog friends! I am thankful for your sweet comments. In the past, I have come from a place of superficial friendships. I have realized when you have nothing to put on the table to offer- besides yourself- you weed thru people quickly. You gotta love the blogworld! I am very glad for the stop by's and the just saying hi's and comments you guys leave. Thank you.

Spring Break 09'

What started out quite disarrayed, turned out awesome.

Amazingly, it was awesome, the kids did good, the dog did good, me, well I did good too! We ended up going to Angel Fire, NM. Absolutely Great! We stayed all week and couldn't have asked for a better place for kids and a dog. We had a huge amount of room and quite the view! It snowed, it was beautiful, the weather was just right. so I definitely recommend the Angel Fire Resort for your vacation needs! We had reserved a place in Ruidoso, NM and I had read waaaay tooo many reviews of how bad it was and the wait on skiing and tubes were unbearable. almost all the reviews said go the extra hour and half to Angel fire and have a blast- so we did! We actually got "played" out! We saw huge elk grazing, took a trip into Taos, amazing as well. Saw Indians and shopped. I had to get some Chili Fudge, yes, fudge made with chili's! Of course, we had to go a little out of our way on the way back home to stop in at Roswell and let the kids get their fill of aliens! I told Dewayne, watch, we had such an awesome blast all week and ALL the kids will remember is the souvenir shop at Roswell! Needless to say, yes, their wearing their alien shirts and thats all their talking about!!!! We even are thinking about going back to Roswell for the alien weekend festival- hahahaha.

This was amazing to see up close- pictures just don't do it justice.

My Mom

Not only have a lied about what my next post would be, but also this one will be my last until after Spring Break! I hope everyone has a safe Spring break- even though we may be the ONLY ones in the world who has Spring break the second week of March in which is technically still WINTER!

Anyway, I wanted to post pictures of my mom. She just turned 70 and you would never know it. She is so amazing. I am very thankful for all she has done in raising me- she has been tough as nails, but I guess thats what it took either that or she just enjoyed the Navy too long and loved keeping me in ship-shape! Get it... Shape up or ship out kinda thing... Anyway. I gathered/scanned photos while I was at her house.
She was the first born to a couple who had a farm in Pekin IL. they owned all kinds of business one a car dealership that also sold airplanes as well.. So my mom got to experience Farm life with all kinds of animals and sell cars and rode in the family airplanes. She joined the Navy and was a Wave for many years and by the looks of her walls awarded many metals and awards as well. I can gather I got my athletics from her. Basketball and Sports in HS. and Soft Ball in the Navy etc.. She didn't get married I think until she was 29 or 30. She once told me she had too much life to experience first. Travel, have fun and then when there is nothing else to do, get married and settle down and have a child- if you have to. Of course, I can't possibly name all the places my mom has traveled to and seen. I can tell you she traveled off a cliff on Sunset Blvd, Cali and her and her girlfriends landed at the bottom- several hundred feet down the T-bird(?) was a total 18in. compacted from top to bottom- I should have grabbed some of those shots but didn't. Well, they all miraculously survived- I am not sure of all the details, but I think my mom broke nearly every bone in her body; obv. was in traction for months. The newpapers had the crash listed as a Miracle they all survived. I'm guessing late 50's or 60's.
Then I have a lovely shot of her a my dad and I had to put the picture of my grandparents in there as well. I enjoyed this picture trying to figure out who my father was older than- oh would that have been them all!???? I have enjoyed looking at these pictures that I bet has been 20 or more years since I have seen them.

This picture I love, can't tell me the Mom of the bride isn't snidely giving her 2cents to the son- n law. Look at my mom and her dads face! My Aunt Jean pictured next to my dad, my moms sis, she died 5 years ago on Feb. 20 and was buried on my moms birthday- they were super close.

I had pictures of her in pageants at Hollywood Beach Hotel and also in her pool growing up- but I figured she would kill me if I broke out those skimpy bathing suit pictures of her!hahaha
