Winding Down from the Holiday

CRAZY is the Understatement...............

Our busyness started on Tuesday with our first wave coming in for Thanksgiving Dinner at our home, our company left on Friday & so did we, which means our kids have been going at it for quite some time now! As we drove home today, yes, expecting a nice quiet trip with kids played out & sleeping- we realized after the first couple of stops that our expectations were not lining up with reality and not all things are in our control- I will be shocked later. So amongst the meltdowns and the stopping at convenience store to "borrow" scissors to cut gum out of hair- we laughed and decided that we will be home and can rest there and reflected on what a great week and weekend it was and how Thankful we are.... So here are some pics!

Oh, and get this- for this I am still amazed(don't ask why- I don't know)Our Thanksgiving dinner consisted of all homemade things- we went with the traditional feast. Now let me remind you I am one of those who believe HEB dinners are the way to go for Thanksgiving and Christmas and have ordered them for Many years!!!!!! At any rate, Dewayne and I worked together on absolutely everything. You know usually when we do fix it ourselves, he cooks one thing and I do another- we both did the entire meal together and it was the best that I have ever tasted-even Kori helped with the pies! A 25lb turkey and Carla's secret recipe dressing and gravy-!

uuumm too much to list- but you get the gest- I think it was awesome that we actually can cook together as a team- how crazy is that! Carla for you I include the massive picture of dressing/gravy- you would be proud- because it tasted awesome

Thanksgiving

All the great memories that come with the season. Happy thankgiving!

I got this pic off the web- but thought of how it looks like it was at a grandmoms house or a distant aunt or uncles for some reason. Realizing no matter how big or how small of crowd- Thinking of Thanksgiving brings warm thoughts. whether it be of the get togethers in the small hot house(all those people in it) and kids running around to the kitchen steamy with everyone helping out and the food that smells so delish! To the HEB premade dinner feast brought in a half hour before we eat- its all good. Have a great Thanksgiving and don't stress out- no one really cares if the house is clean- only that the food taste good! No pressure-Blessings! A t least thats what I am hoping!

Like About When Totally did this stuff go out?

Like you know, we had this like Totally 80's day today and Like it was ya know like a total bummer, because you know like everyone was like acting like- Oh I dannoe like it was something totally rad and like old and something, like it was fun like to go totally back to caveman days and like uptalk for yaknow fun- like whats with that? Like When did this like become you know, like out? Big Hair- ah INNN! and you know like ah- black eyeliner for lips oh so in! and ya know ah- like mabelline melted eyeliner- OhMyGosh LIke who knew that was not in? and OhMyGosh who doesn't still wear their like boyfriend forever class ring on their like index finger with yarn? This is a total complete meltdown of like what you know was a totally complete maximum of like life happiness or ya know something. It was like Important and sacred like to not ever be minimumized- like totally!

Whew, some things I am glad are in the past- though we all know history repeats itself! Yes, strangely so 80's days at mops, brought back waaaay cool memories- I just loved everyones cute attire today- does anyone remember Units? Legwarmers? Peter-pan boots? Swatch? Colored Reebox? Converse? colored bangles, numerous pierced holes in ears, flashdance? So much fun! Of course that being at the minimum of 150 lbs. ago I would not have any of that attire left! For the life of me, I was totally trying to think if I remembered any obese people in the 80's to see how they dressed-no luck. anyway, took some shots that made me embarrassed to go out side today just with make-up and hair! I LOVE Big hair- but this was too much!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew all this Positive thought stuff was going to get me!

(I absolutely despise the sound of country music- but I couldn't RESIST putting this song to this post-thanks for the lyrics the other day Adrianne!)

Ok, as I laugh a tiny bit(as I lie!) Actually, I am on the computer to Vent, a true sign of a blogaholic. I run to my blog to feel better- I knew all this crap about thinking good thoughts was going to get me! See, I feel better already! No, talk about a round of stress! Oh wait- before I get into the how horrible it is- Looky, lookie! I actually get to use my garage for my vehicle! I keep just going out there and looking at it parked in the garage, I have never got to do this and it feels so good! I have always climbed over boxes and stuff in my garage- never got to put a vehicle in one- well I had room for my boat for years-that doesn't count-that was just winters!!I can say that nearly cancels out about 1/4th of what I am about to rant on- and maybe not that much=)

Okay good feeling gone. I have been about ready to pull my hair out! First the broken arm-expense of the specialist-no ins., now another round of tooth aches with the non-stop crying and NO DENTAL offices being open in this town on FRIDAYS! so I have a little boy crying non stop from a bad tooth ache and pondering what the heck to do since the last ordeal on his brother cost $800 at dentist this summer! I know we can't do that- especially not after the broken arm. But see, that stuff is just life- deal with it- thats not really anything out of the ordinary- but this next thing is!!!!!!! I get livid thinking about it! I have a child who since at least a year or so old- can spew vomit if she gets the tiniest bit upset or thinks she is in trouble! So as one can guess, discipline has not really ever been enforced for her due to the consequences I recv for it! Believe me, we have tried ever thing in the book, from even taking her in the bathroom to be upset with her knowing she was going to cry and spew- taking her to the Dr. and her spew there from fear of a shot to prove this is what she does when upset- you name it!! Well, I can say I have had it! Last night, she sasses off at her daddy for him telling her it was bedtime- yes, how minor, he gets her off of the couch, walking her to her room and commences to telling her how disrespectful she was and the trouble she is in for this- he tucks her into bed- sobbing uncontrollable(I knew this was a mistake-but didn't care) Oh yes, moments later, I already knew what had happened she calls out to me crying and I refuse to go, I figure he did it he can clean it up(how nice- I know, I told you I am fed up) He walks into her room and I knew right away it was far worse than what I could imagine- oh and it was! She literally spewed on her bed, walls and floor- she just sat there and did this! I don't respond well to this, I took her and her matted hair and bed linen stuffed animals everything and stuck her in a dry bath-tub and walked off- as she cried uncontrollably I heard her just sitting in the tub throwing up all over herself! WHAT?????? The toilet is right beside her!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooH You have no idea! Okay, fine.. I get over it, Dewayne is cleaning the bedroom I go take a bath(hey I had to remove myself from this scene!) I come back ready to do whatever needs to be done- longer story short, get her hair brushed thru with chunks stuck all thru it after it was washed and her arm is naked(since she threw up all on her temp cast etc.. have her laying out on the sofa, Yes, it gets better.... D goes to bed- its close to midnight by the time and Kori starts coughing- she has been coughing for days- so I give her delsym and she continues to cough and cough and cough, I make her sit up on the couch- oh you got it, she stand up and says I think I am going to throw up from coughing- I say go to the bathroom, she says no I just thought I was and she sits back down on the couch! She spews all over the living room, all the way to the bathroom, on every wall between here and there! As I shampoo'd carpet at nearly 1am. asking her if she feels sick- shes all happy saying no, I feel fine, I just coughed too much and I was still upset at getting in trouble! Today is a new day right???? Sat. Morning beautiful day, she woke up wants mac n cheese for breakfast- fine- knock yourself out. She starts coughing a little I say hey let me give you some cough medicine before we get any further(she has already eaten the m n c at this point) She throws a freakin fit over taken the medicine- I got mad and told her she can just stay in her room all day- she started crying- you got it- she went in her room slammed the door and commenced to throwing up all over her room, walls and naked bed- never trying for the door and to get to the bathroom(which is directly next to her room- 2 steps at the most!). So I am cooling off right now, I will go clean up another vomit mess while I hear her in their laughing and playing with the boys- I will then empty out her room of no toys, computer or writing/coloring apparatus' and I may put down sheets on the floor- but she will stay in her room today- She is just fine right now- happy as punch- now that is manipulation at its highest! Well, as much as I thought I would feel better- I don't- now I have to go shampoo carpets and clean walls and a bed- good thing we are having company all next week that was going to use her room! After all I could just be doing the regular cleaning today, instead I have to gut a room!

Perfect Only Child

You ever have one of those kids, that if you ever get them by themselves, they end up being that perfect child of One! Well, I have one of those, actually 2 if you consider Eston's 4-5 only child years- I remember thinking my life was complete- with just him and how perfect he was. Well, several children later, you know, you don't have just one- its all of them all the time. Lately, since Josh has been homeschooling, I have had the priviledge of spending time with just him! Matthew has his couple days a week of pre-school-MDO and in those few hours its just Joshy and me. D and I have often said, if there were to be just one perfect only child- it would be him. He is totally different when you get him alone- its amazing! I have got a picture of us going to the library(which you can't tell by the pic) and then I have included a picture of what happens when you put him back into the mix of everyone- crash boom bang! Yes, the very same night he throws a ball to his brother in the house and sends my favorite clock crashing and smashing down! I have a hard enough time trying to get things up on the walls and as soon as I do- guess who is taking them down for me! Boys and Balls! Dang..............How many times do you have to say NO BALLS IN THE HOUSE?

Thinking good thoughts takes you back.....

Still on the Thinking Good Thoughts thing, amazing how it takes you back in time.
I remember some of the things I did as a kid- there would be no way to explain if a picture had been taken. This is one of those moments with my kids- there is no way to explain this picture! I found it as I dug thru shots the other night in search of cakes.. It jogged my memory of what one of my best friends and I did growing up: I remember LaTanger and I putting her Geri-Curl Activator on my hair & capping it to see if it would turn curly. Needless to say it didn't work- but I still to this day have a very fine tuned nose to coconut oil & shea & great memories.

Thinking Good Thoughts.

As we venture into another week of Homeschooling (which I absolutely am loving to the max!) We continue to cover the area of "Thinking Good Thoughts". As I explained to my kiddo's when you do this, you don't have to worry about what you say or what you do- because it will all be good. Of course we made the trail from out of a good heart pours good things, onto what we have in our heart pours into our brain and out of our mouth etc.. Phil 4 and so on.. Yes, this lesson is for me and me only!

Anyway!!!!!! My funny thoughts this week have been on some of the kool Birthday cakes over the years-since 96'. They make me smile and the kids still refer to their birthdays according to what the cake looked like- how funny! Since I DO NOT have any PHOTO albums or any photos placed into any albums as of yet- only warehoused in not one, but TWO 60 gallon Rubbermaid's on wheels & 3 computers, I don't have these in any particular sequence. All their 1st birthday cakes were so adorable- but can I find the pictures? Noooooo! And Not a single one of Kori's cute cakes! Anyway, this is what I got ahold of.

This cake makes me laugh, I dropped it in the parking lot just before I got in to the race track, we laughed saying it was on purpose the asphalt had a crack in it. It literally had fallen into two pieces- it was smushed back together . Oops.. This was a candy box heart shape Valentines cake..I wish I found the picture of the one the year before that where I put the chocolate's on before the cake had completely cooled and it looked like a sludge farm!
Josh's strictly experimental cake for his exp.science party & boy was this cake and experiment! The icing is green apple flavoring- and the cake was choc w/ vanilla ice cream- if that tells you anything!Well it was the only kind of gel icing I could find that looked like ooze!

What A Chilly Day!

Now this feels like fall to me! Definitely makes you want to get ready for the Holidays! I have really been woeing over the move back to Texas thing lately. I remember being in this very time of year last year thinking- This is great, I could live here forever. I feel like I was misunderstood from abroad when I would say how much I missed my friends. I still miss my friends, I never one time missed Texas. Yay though I live back in the state, I am still away from my friends- so I mise well have lived anywhere. We talk often about having the chance to move back and we would. So I am not writing off the Carolina's because the Mega Market that Dewayne is in includes the Carolina's! Now thats a Yay! Still we have the present and with that, Abilene is not bad.. Especially on a crisp chilly day!

& its another thing to actually see it coming to fruition

At the beginning of this last week, this is what the city buses will be logoing in Washington DC. per associated press.

A bit ironic. No....After all it is what the people of the United States wanted, voices were heard loud and clear- Lets just love one another and you have your god and I will have mine and just live in peace with each other and all nations. Its now more obvious than ever what the statics show that there are less than 11% of Americans who have even read the Bible, a slightly different percentage that reads on a regular basis. Cannot follow the rules without reading the instructions. Sad.
I am sick of hearing it is Gods will for a country to turn away from Him. the moment you voted someone in who represents the opposite of what God represents & it is clearly written down what exactly that is- and then label it His Will? Whose will? Control and Will are two different things. It is always Gods will for us to turn from sin and turn towards Him- not the opposite.

Jhabba the Pup

This is Jhabba AFTER he is groomed.
This is what he normally would look like when not groomed- though he won't let us take his picture then- so I had to find this on the internet!
10) Coton de Tulear

Coton de Tulear - Photo by mydarlingdogs.com

The Coton de Tulear is a Bichon type breed that originated in Tulear, Madagascar. The Coton has a fluffy medium length coat that is made up of hair, rather than fur. They do very little shedding, but do need daily grooming to keep their coats free of snags and other dirt. Cotons are known to be incredibly affectionate with humans and very good with other dogs as well. This breed sometimes vocalizes during play. They are very trainable and desire to please their owners.
Bichon Freise' in French means Curly lap-dog- which is hilarious, our dog literally climbs up into our laps and puts his front paws around our neck and gives hugs & gentle kisses. So sweet!

I happen to like this dog for many reasons. One, Eston named him or all of us did out of the love of StarWars-even though Chewy was my favorite (I even got to meet him in real life!) Ironically, we have family with the name Cotton- I thought that was neat. And of course my favorite reason- I like saying Bichon(Beeshaun) back when I thought it was pronounced (bitchun) Yes, I crack myself up! The ultimate number one reason I love this dog- is because he loves me! He rarely is away from my side and behaves better than my children....He is a far cry from my 100 plus pounder Doberman-Zeus that I had for nearly 14yrs. Now he was lap dog! RIP Zeussy woosey.

Frustration of the worst kind!

I am desparately trying to add a signature to my posts. This is very frustrating to me because I usually can figure out just about ANYTHING I want to. I have followed all the instructions- done everything that I can think of and still can't add the signature. Not to mention its been WEEKS that I have been trying! I am past my safe level of frustration. I almost sucked it up and paid to have my blog re-worked. I re-thunk that and just decided I will just have to do something else to make me happy..

Things I have failed to mention.....

I failed to have mentioned that only hours before Kori hurt her arm on halloween, Dewayne ripped his bi-cep! Oh it was not good, the muscle was clearly torn and even dropped(the torn part) to his elbow. It was a freak incident as was Kori's fall trick or treating. And this is a recent shot- the upper part of his muscle is yellow.

I failed to have mentioned that this is how my children fall asleep when I have that once a year MNO! I couldn't bring myself to take pictures of the bodies scattered throughout the living room asleep and the crazed toy- positions- a battle field.

I failed to mention that my dog and children are traitors! My life-long bff friend came in this weekend(yay my first visitor-ok, besides Rodger dodger at lunch!) I was sooo excited to have company- and apparently my kids and DOG were too!

I failed to mention the many times the boys ran around with balls stuffed in their hips stating- "I have got big hips were hippys! Big hippies!" Yes, they also tried the big b------ one and got in trouble!

Ok.. Exactly what is it that your teaching your child again?

LOVELY...How is it that there is ALWAYS one in the bunch? No matter how big the bunch is.. I am desparately trying to focus on Josh, no wait, heck trying to FOCUS on Anything and freakin Matthew is on a tear! I am sooo sick of shampooing carpets, I am sooo sick of scrubbing crayons and markers off of the walls- provided they actually come off- You know, there is obviously something wrong with my methods of raising children and teaching them- OBVIOUSLY....... No one is allowed to comment unless the have "freakin kids" no thanks from the perfect ones who never go thru things.........My son darn sure better turn out to be the NEXT President of the new world order or something!Ok, that was uneccessary kinda....

I might add, that these spots are Not just spots they are no less than in some instances 2 ft. in diameter! The carpet ones esp.

Embracing Change

Ahhh. a week of embracing change. A historical week as well. Lots of excitement and anticipation of the future, as it should be. This is an exciting time for everyone. As for believers, it brings us closer to seeing the fulfilment of prophesy & revelation of the end times as it continues the course as HE has planned. The key word is as it continues.
After recving some emails, I should add, by no means did I vote for Obama. God has a plan and I am just trying to be positive and Trust in Him. It certainly separated those from those who are on that narrow road didn't it? Because based on the cover- that was a tough call- wasn't it. One more thing, don't be mad at your friends if they voted for him- the word talks about and tells about specifically praying for scales to be removed from our eyes- it would be like trying to make em' eat peanut butter when clearly they do not like peanut butter- if anything we should be praying for lost souls to be won- and of that I mean people who also think they are saved but merely have just been introduced.

More change on a smaller level-

The first week of homeschooling. Not off to a great start, with a major injury and not being able to focus at the original planned schedule. figures... So here are some pictures from our first field trip and finding out that Kori does not like touching animals- hahaha.

Trick or Treating did not go well.

Last night was not fun, as only a few minutes into our neighborhood T/T Kori ran off and ended up falling and hurting her arm- I guess you can say the night was ruined upon contimplating emergency room with zero insurance coverage that has yet to of kicked in -not to mention when it does it does not cover Dr.'s in our region and corporately trying to get that changed for our area. As Kori cries about this being the worst thing that has ever happened to her- we assure her accidents happenh and it probably won't be the last. She said, as I gave her motrin "Up until now I have had a perfect life."
Ok, so she IS my daughter! Bless her sweetness.
