Happy Birthday Joshy!!!!!

Happy 6th Birthday to Joshy today!

It has been going wild and strong since at least 6am. this morning- maybe sooner......

We had a breakfast birthday followed by a party at Mr. Gatti's(maybe its called just gatti's). It was a good party, he got lots of cool things that are "his" now & hopefully will stay in his care at least thru the end of the day! As soon as we walked in the house the Clone trooper commander outfit had to go on- I doubt if it will come off for awhile! Josh did really well with all the noise and excitement- he did hold his ears and say too loud while everyone sang him happy birthday- So very hard to believe he is another year older- they do go by so fast!!!!!!!

PuppyWuppy has to have surgery!

My puppy wuppy has to have surgery! He has been taking medicine and its helped but as soon as he got off the antibiotics whew it got much worse. I just think of how innocent and lacking street smarts he is and think wow- of all things this sheltered inside dog, gets bit by a snake and then it gets an infection. I can remember growing up and Sheena my catahula getting bit several times. One time she kept me from getting bit by a ground rattler and she took the hit on her face. It swelled up so bad and she was sick- but she came right out of it eventually the swelling came down and she lived. Only to take another hit by a copper head a few months later. But the dogs we had back in the day were tough. Poor Jhabba is what I call a circus dog- he is the sweetest boy- but funny! So onward we go this week to have surgery on his back and then that lovely collar he will have to wear around his head until he heals!

Accomplishments go a long way....

This weekend was a great weekend! It seems like we finally got some things accomplished. Its been strangely tough moving. I miss my NC friends really bad. I miss alot of things about the Carolina's actually. I am still overcoming dissappointment of moving.
Now as I re-vamp, re-coop and re-start and re-vise and re-structure-once more...............
Ok, its possible that overcoming brings accomplishments-long overdue...I finished the table and got that into the house, I was able to get the paw prints off of the freshly painted round table, Kori cleaned her room for the first time today and her closet(HUGE Accomplishment!!) We hung up pictures finally, I threw away all the papers from school that had managed to take me over. I actually got my kitchen somewhat cleaned and found a pot that had been soaking(oops) for all week that I thought was totally ruined- Dewayne fixed it and scraped the burned bottom out( first time I used the pot=) Usually I just chunk them after I have ruined them. Lets see, just feels like we are making alittle bit of progress finally! I took some Happy pictures this weekend and also once Kori got her room cleaned she decided to utilize all that space she now had to display her art work!

When its not the kids...... Its the Dog!

Ok, finally.... I am going to finish a task I started the week we moved in- painting our dinning table! Beautiful days make things oh so much better right? Well, I decided to go out to the garage and finish painting the table yesterday- but of course, I thought well, I could always paint the other little table top too, you know since I have this paint left over. So I went inside and quickly painted the table top( I had sanded before we moved just in case-lol) I didn't think a thing about it and went back out into the garage to clean-up and left the dog inside with a wet table.

You got it! He jumped up on the table and away he went all thru the house with BLACK paint on his paws!!!!!! One he is a white dog with very black feet now. Two, I can't get the paw prints out of the paint(quick dry) so I may have to actually sand it now. Three, the carpet he jumped onto is white and cream.. Nice....

Who knew he jumped up on the table anyway!!!!!? Now he is busted! Figures! I try to use PDO to be more productive and now the dog gets me~!

Sea of papers

By Friday, I am sick of papers! I would never make it as a teacher. and of course, all of the papers are important! I took a picture of our separated stacks of papers, one for Kori- no 2 for Kori, one for Josh and one for Matthew. The I took a picture of just the papers that came home today on the round table and it covered it up! Just as soon as I picked them up and tossed them, Kori cries out " My homeworks gone!" So we dug through the papers once again and never found her homework. Later that day she came home and said- "I forgot, it was the day before and I didn't have any home work." So I have a sea of papers all week long- because "what if". Just as soon as I throw them away- someone will surely need something out of the pile!

OH AND LETS NOT FORGET ALL THOSE THAT MAKE IT TO THE WALLS!

You said What??????

Kids!!! OMG!!!! Okay.. Josh came in the other day talking about his friend Reicher- how they searched his house and there were no guns.. Let this be whats starts this blog post off! First of all!!! Our rule is NO GOING INTO OTHERS HOMES unless mommy or daddy have met their parents and we say then that it is ok.. No EXCEPTIONS. Never.

Well, after Joshs hunt for a gun into someone elses home that I had NO clue about. I decided its open floor and we are going to talk. After explaining that he is never to go into someones home and look for anything- let alone a gun, after explaining that he broke the main rule of even going into the house, after explaining I don't even know who Reicher is or his parents- after explaining that we live in a military town and our neighborhood is mostly military and alot of them have guns...this is what we get a couple days later...............

Door opens..... "MOM!!!!! (Josh) I have a Guest... Mom, this is Riker and his dad is absolutley not in the military.. Riker lives over here and its the third house (and he points)... Riker, tell my mom you don't have any guns and we won't find them... Ok umm. no guns and ummm I am Riker and my name is spelled R.I.K.E.R not like you just spelled it. and I am in Kindergarten but not school." Ok, its nice to meet you. Mom? NOW Can I go to Rikers? only if you stay in the yard outside. Ok...

Next five minutes.. Door Opens..... "MOM!!!!!!!!" Yes... "MOM??"

Yes.... Oh I have a guest!(Kori this time) Come outside & meet her.... Hi, this is my friend Shay. Hi Shay, its nice to meet you. Shay says "my name is shay and my mom IS in the military, I hope thats alright? And actually my dad is too." She shyingly says. I said very much smiling, oh that is great its nice to meet you, then almost in the same breath she says- "oh and your son wants us to pass on a message to you: He wants us to tell you that rikers dad says he is not in the military and that he is a doctor and that rikers mom works at home and that we do not have any guns in our house hiding and we'll be playing outside in the front with the football.."

I guess its time for me to go outside and go meet the neighbors!

I think Its wrong........

Hurricane Ike from NASA
I think it is so sad that in the time of fleeing from a huge storm that once again we see the same old thing. Gas prices rise. Sure we all know and understand the Oil platforms and refineries threatened and could possibly be destroyed. Some how I feel cashing in on the crisis of people millions possibly trying to leave the surrounding areas- Is sickening. Everyone assumes that these people are prepared financially around the clock for Storms- after all, aren't you?. They have that extra several hundred dollars to fill up their tanks and drive to whatever yonder destination and afford to live away from their home. It has made me realize these idiots that stay- may not have the funds to go- so maybe they are not idiots-just financially challenged- And when you are ashamed that you can't even put gas in you vehicle to leave- why not hang out at the local bar thats offering free drinks to those who ride out the storm-LOL! But you get the point. No I do not believe they go into to every place to transport evacuees. I think New Orleans is the only place that gets that privilage. At either rate- raising gas prices before and not after is like someone hitting you from behind as you cross the street in the crosswalk and then getting to the hospital and they raise the price just because you are injured. Yeh think about that. It just makes me feel wronged by our people(gov..).. Kinda like how gas always goes up just before Holidays and Summer. Business is business as usual I suppose.

When Lightening Strikes

Today after a very big storm, I write about when lightening strikes. Mainly because that is how I feel everytime D goes out of town! Why is that? I hear this snotty abrupt voice in my head say " poor baby, what did you do all those years as a single mom?" Gosh.. I think the appropriate thing is I feel like I am a homing defice for lightening strikes.... Where does this lightening thing come from... Well, yesterday as this storm blew in and uproot my large plants in their containers, I was in the kitchen cooking and something told me look out & low and behold I saw lightening strike! Didn't help much that it sounded as though it struck the inside middle of our house, but it literally struck the pole right out side our house(pictured thru the kit. window). This huge pole was tempting it- I mean literally! The lightening was doing its best to not stike again- but the pole just kept calling out its name! Soon lightening struck again- only this time next to it. This had our household in an uproar! As we watched for lightening- we also watched our yard fill once more with 4-5ft of water. I took pictures, it amazes me. So today, the first full day daddy is gone and the last picture on here is at 8:15 this morning! Absolutely no food or drinks are allowed in any part of the house except the dinning table! I am doing everything I can to not attract lightening- but it surely is tracking me down quickly! Hey! What a concept I think I will spend the day cleaning up everyone elses messes!

Humor you got to have humor!

Why would this be humorous to me? I don't know a parade in West Tx and the band is dressed up like cowboys- hadn't seen that in a while! Not so humorous............ I took a PDO day- not on anyones elses time another words and I went and got my hair done. Over three hours later and "platinum" tuning out brown, I left the shop with my hair cut off, soaking wet with a new style I have never had before and so upset I was crying and my neck was breaking out and beat red. Still no humor found.. Not to mention the cost!!!
Now this guy is getting funny! He loves changing clothes many times a day and he calls it dressing up! After this outfit- he changed into slacks, a button down with a fleece jacket and snow boots. He said "take me somewhere so they can see me!" Oh boy!
This is humor. The firecracker of the bunch wants me to take pictures at the parade of him looking tough! If he only knew- he doesn't have to practice- I keep waiting for my phone to ring one day from his teacher, he has already told me- he is holding back from the kids calling him names! D and I always say we'll put one Joshy up against any 2 or 3! Shame on his parents=)

Fresh!

This Crisp Cool Weather is like a Fresh new start on a really good day. For most of yesterday in my truck it was in the mid 70's! For a moment I thought I was somewhere else! Its just crisp enough to get excited about Fall and The Fair and all that good stuff that goes with it! Yet, leave it to me, can't help but wonder thru all the Freshness what is the Purpose of today? What is it that I need to do and Lord what would you have me do? As I walked outside this morning to see why the horrendous loud noises coming from AF/Bombers and f-18's flying by- I look to my left and there's 2 neighbors in their flight suits(under 20 homes- we are only 1 of 3 families in this neighborhood not in the air force & pilots) , look to the right and another zipping off down the street in his jet with car tags and I have a sudden wonder of Purpose- everyone I saw had a purpose and was purposed to do something for today and that moment. To grasp the concept of every moment having a purpose is amazing. A Jeremiah moment I suppose.

Labor day weekend

BAck in Time. This weekend we went to the Ark-La-Tex area of Tx. to visit my mom. We certainly picked the weekend while all the evacuees were filtrating upthru LA. in TX. Everyone was preparing for Gustav to hit. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, my brother and his daughter were ina and we all just hung out. cool weekend. The back in time part comes from my mom sending home a set of bunk beds with us to set up for the boys. they were my brother and I's when I was in kindergarten!!!!!! Need I say that is 34 or so years ago! Wowee.. We set them up as soon as we got home tonight and took pictures~! This took me back in time- and how amazing it is that my boys get a piece of it! Thanks mom for always taking good care of things! I am looking forward to more treasures- hahahahaha Great weekend! I know, you are asking yourself- gosh, its seems as though they had un uneventful weekend- no drama- Surprise! We did manage to hit an extremely large buck(couldn't count all the points there were so many!) while driving down my moms road. All I could think of- is thank God he didn't come thru the windshield!
