Spent the entire summer in a Hotel.....
The moment we land in Texas, everybody gets sick......
Dog nearly dies...
Kids making the rounds of virus...Looking for a doctor...
Fuel regulator chip goes out in truck- mucho buckos........
Joshy has to have emergency root canal..........
Did I mention we are in a hotel?
Did I mention its in the middle of nowhere in the most boring of towns?
Dewayne gone all week for training.
Dewayne gone another week for meetings....
Dog really sick, find a vet- found out the humungo swelling is a snake bite.......
Dog still on medicine- has to go back for surgery............
Matthew gets sick super quick in a few hours- find a doctor has progressive upper resp. inf.
You got it, then Kori and then Josh......
Attempt 3 contracts on homes and get beat out- can't find a place to move- military has it wrapped up and we don't have the in......
Can't find a rental with in 45 miles....
This goes on for weeks- no months!
Don't know what school kids will be in.....
Truck breaks down again- no biggy this time just the $1950. dollar AC complete unit!
We have zero air and it reaches 103-105- NICE........... And we chose this place?
Watched D's job change three times in a month...... Still in hotel....
10:15pm. After sneaking in from the pool(which was supposed to be closed) Matthew reaches up and pulls fire alarm- 4 floors of people trying to get out of a hotel... Employees do not have access to turn off or silence alarms... People going everywhere... VP of operations(the guy that cuts us such a great deal) is THERE!!!!!! Mass chaos! fire trucks ambulances etc. rush to the Holiday Inn! I have white Clearasil(sp) on my face and drag Matthew around to Managers and firemen to have him say he is sorry... Don't realize until an hour later- my face had white spots all over it.....
Next day.... 100 degrees in Hotel- fire alarm automatically shut down AC unit all the business people- NOT HAPPY............ No one knew to reset it.....
Never a dent in 2 years to our truck... Since we have been back in Texas- it has been pulverized, huge dents and scratches. The kids have been in shock, the have had concussions and lacerated toes from the wonderful southern hospitality of folks holding the door open for the little ones. Literally Matthew was nearly knocked unconscious from a guy trying to race thru the door so he wouldn't have to hold it for us- didn't know Matthew was racing to get thru it and it knock him cold on his back and the corner of his temple- the guy turned around looked at him and walked off. it took us 6 states and 16 hours to experience once again Texas hospitality.
Still in Hotel.
Finally start looking at more homes.. Not good.
Find a home, truck delivers our things, oh whats this- a third of our things are missing, antique chair leg snapped off and ahhhhh. the back yard fills up with 4ft of water when it rains and turns into a lake! Ah its good to be back in Texas. HAVE TO BUY ALL APPLIANCES..GOOD THING WE MOVED???!!
WE did do fun stuff- Myrtle beach- the best! I would move there in a heart beat- storms or not.
All the way up to Virgina is called "southern" states- who knew- Texas could take some notes on southern charm and hospitality- with out leaving here you would never know how GREAT is is away from here. and how sweet people are and how good you can be treated by strangers- should I tell you how many times I have been run off the road since I have been here? Amazing.. Ashamed actually.
Matthew- Hurricane Harbor
Ripleys Aquarium- Myrtle beach
DID I MENTION OUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR IS THE VP OF OPERATIONS FOR THE HOTEL WE STAYED IN?
